Why apply?
Find out how your business could benefit from joining our community, and what exactly Pitch Up! can offer you
Why do it alone when you can tap into the resources, expertise, energy, ideas and practical support available from our farms and wider Pitch Up! network across the UK?
Pitch Up! is open to all businesses and ideas at every stage of development. We’re happy to support established businesses with relocation, or work with people at the early/ proof-of-concept stage. Through Pitch Up!, our Partner farms can offer a combination of:
- Land – from small areas to larger rotational parcels
- Fertility – healthy soils and resilient, rotational pastures
- Raw materials/ by-products from the farm and other businesses based there
- Production, storage and office space
- Destination retail and tourism opportunities
- Low overheads, reduced risk and shared running costs
- Economies of scale and infrastructure, access to machinery
- Potential to share the costs of new equipment
- Job share opportunities
- Help with accounting, administration and marketing
- Access to industry knowledge and contacts from the landowners and Pitch Up!’s wider circular communities
Successful applicants will join and work with a network of businesses already focusing on a circular economy approach that ‘stacks’ enterprises to make the best and most sustainable use of the land.
Following your successful application…
Our Pitch Up! Partner farms offer a wide range of support, depending on what stage your business is at. For example:
If you’re an established business, it could be about supporting your relocation, renovating space customised to your specific needs, or readying land for you to use.
If you’re a start-up, it might be more about experimental space, trialling packaging or dispatch processes, or support developing your business plan/ product offer/ production processes.
The support is different each time; tailored to each specific business and their needs, and the other activity/ businesses on the farm you’ve applied to.
You’ll also be able to tap into the knowledge and experience of similar businesses already working on other Partner farms across the UK, from mobile poultry and micro dairies to milling heritage grains; market gardeners to farm-to-plate pubs; craft brewers to artisan bakers; farm shops to glamping and much more.
