Head of farming at Hampton Estate
—
James is Head of Farming at Hampton, where he oversees everything from caring for the beef cattle and tending to the hops, to managing environmental schemes and much more. He joined Hampton in January 2025 and is fully embracing the Hampton farming way.
Before joining Hampton, James was involved in running a large contract farming business, covering arable, beef, sheep, and dairy enterprises – all managed with a regenerative approach. He studied Agriculture at the Royal Agricultural College and has completed the Worshipful Company of Farmers’ Advanced Course in Farm Business Management.
When he’s not out checking on the cows or inspecting the hops, James enjoys walking his spaniel, shooting and fishing.
